There are two versions of this Spirograph WDT Tool:

Standard Version: Needles need to be cut to change the distribution depth.
Height Adjustable Version: The distribution depth can be adjusted by rotating the side ring. The needles have an adjustable range of 15 – 30mm distribution depth.

This 3D-printed WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tool incorporates a print-in-place planetary gear mechanism, resulting in a spirographic needle motion.

The default needle pattern has been optimized for uniform distribution, needing no more than eight rotations of the handle. The big gear also offers extra holes for needles, allowing customization of the distribution pattern.

This is a game changer. I have one for 58 mm standard, but with two “bases” for regulating height and needles depth of penetration. This (for 53.5 mm standard – fits Bambino baskets) has revolving corps, so regulating needles depth is a breeze. Absolutely amazing, worth every penny. It has very thin, but strong, needles so it prepares coffee bed perfectly! No channeling, no spurts. Every serious espresso fan should got it. Recommend!
