Brew Like a Barista: The Ultimate Guide to Making Iced Coffee with A Chemex

Ingredients
  

  • 40 g Freshly ground coffee beans (medium-dark roasts)
  • 340 g Ice cubes
  • 300 g Water

Instructions
 

  • Grind 40g of coffee to a finer grind size than the typical Chemex size.
  • Rinse the Chemex filter using cold tap water.
  • Put about 340 grams of ice into the Chemex.
  • Add the ground coffee to the Chemex filter.
  • Bloom the coffee for 1 minute by pouring 100 grams of hot water over the grounds.
  • Pour hot water in 50g increments, slowly and carefully.
  • The total brew time is 4-5 minutes.
  • Swirl the brewed coffee to melt any remaining ice.
  • Serve the coffee over a ice cubes .

Notes

  • Experiment with grind sizes until you find what's right for you.
  • Add flavoring like vanilla or cream.
