Here is the recipe for an authentic cortado, using a 1:1 coffee-steamed milk ratio.

Ground coffee (Dark roast)

Instructions
Add and tamp 16 grams of ground coffee in the portafilter.
Put the portafilter on the espresso machine, place gibraltar glass cups under the double spout, and pull 2 ounces of espresso.
Steam the 4 ounces of milk in the milk pitcher to a silky consistency, until it reaches around 150°F to 155°F.
Pour the milk gently onto the espressos.
Add your latte art if applicable and serve.

Notes
To get an authentic cortado, you need to use an espresso machine. The velvety steamed milk can only be created with a steam wand.
